A new project that you may feel you want to be part of. To follow and/or get involved the project you will find the information on Facebook in the group "The Faces of HIV Photo Project.  Below is the summary from that group.

"2012 marks the World Olympics in the UK and marks 31 years since HIV/ AIDS was recognised as a disease affecting the whole world.

The faces of HIV photo project will give an opportunity for people living with or affected by HIV a platform to recognise that the HIV community are normal people like everyone else.

This photo project will mark the history of the virus and provide the community a space to remember the people they have loved and lost due to HIV/ AIDS. The Faces of HIV photo project will provide a space for people to tell their story and experience of living with HIV.

The project will also break down the stigma of getting tested and disclosure. The Faces of HIV Photo Project will do this by letting people know there are others out there that are able to lead positive normal lives past receiving their diagnosis.

The project will provide an exhibition for young people to learn about HIV/ AIDS and schools and youth clubs will be able to visit the exhibition. As we know that young people are one of the growing communities being diagnosed with HIV.

Young people will be able to enter into a competition, to produce an HIV prevention message and the opportunity that the winning message will be released nationwide on Worlds AIDS Day 2012. Runners up will also receive a prize and all participants will receive a certificate to reward them for their participation in the project.

I am looking for people from the arts, event organisers and experienced fundraisers to form an advisory panel for this project.

Please contact Joel Korn on faceshivphotoproject2012@yahoo.co.uk if you would like to be part of an advisory panel for this project."
