AIDS Trust Cymru are promoting the request emailed to them below. If you have any enquires about taking part please contact Kate at BBC Wales or the Trust.

I work for the Eye on Wales half hour current affairs programme at BBC Radio Wales. We've decided to do a programme on living with HIV following the news this week that the life expectancy for HIV positive people has vastly improved in the last decade. I'm sure you will have seen the story but here's a link to it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-15264972

I understand that public education is considered extremely important as one of the main factors affecting life expectancy is early diagnosis. However there seems to have been very little in the media in the last few years about HIV and we therefore thought it would be interesting to look again at this topic. I've gathered that as well as the practical health implications of living with HIV, one of the greatest problems HIV positive people face is the attitude of others and this is something we would also like to look into.

We would like to have a chat with anyone living with HIV in Wales who wants to let us know their perspectives to make sure we cover the main issues. While we appreciate how sensitive this topic is we would also like to speak to people who have been diagnosed relatively recently - perhaps within the last year or two.

I wondered if you would mind informing your clients that we are doing this programme and provide our contact information in case any of them would like to get in touch with us and contribute or make any suggestions for topics we should cover.

All correspondence would of course be treated confidentially. They can email me on kate.rimmington@bbc.co.uk or call me on 02920 323 347 / 675 for an initial off the record chat to see whether they would like to be involved. If they then decided they did not want to be involved then there would obviously be no obligation on them to do so. If any of them do want to feature on the programme we could offer them anonymity if they chose.

If they want to look at the kind of work we do here is our webpage: http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/radiowales/sites/eyeonwales/ .

We'd be really grateful if you could pass this information on as we want to make sure we hit the right note with the programme and we think it's important to speak to as many people affected as possible, even if just for background research.

I'm currently not working on Mondays and Tuesdays but I'm in the office this afternoon and will be back in on Wednesday.

Many thanks and hopefully speak to you soon
Kate
