An interesting subject for us all to consider but it is the very essence that feeds the whole misunderstanding and stigma of having and living with HIV. You may recall the paranoia in the early days of the illness surrounding touching or being in the presence a person with HIV. So here we want to put the myths right and tackle issues of stigmatism. Has this paranoia gone? Are their preconceptions, new in nature, that pervade the understanding of us and our illness still out there? Is our understanding correct? Sometimes rumour succeeds where fact is lost. | ||
